Roman lettuce is a variety of lettuce that grows in a tall head with strong, dark green leaves with firm ribs in the centre. It is very crunchy and the taste is bitter, although not too bitter. It is not as sweet as iceberg, but also not as "grassy" as spinach.
It is grown hydroponically, is free of pesticides and is packaged in a hygienic hydroponic system where it is not touched with bare hands.
